It's good.

The screenplay is a definite 10 out of 10. Apparently, I seem to be the only one on this site who judges the actual writing rather than "OO THIS MOVIE IS SOOO GREAT I KNOW IT ALL BY HEART LOL".

I'm going to go one step further and point out that this screenplay is how a real screenplay ought to be written. To those aspiring screenwriters out there who use Final Draft like heroin, please nevermind or turn off the "CONTINUED:" and "(CONTINUED:)" sluglines in your scripts. That's taken care of once your script is purchased by the studio and is budgeted and retyped. Same goes for the scene numbers. These two blunders are really annoying for the producer who is reading your script after reading 43 others that day (hint, hint, HINT).

Now here is a movie that you have got to watch. It tells you just how a story could be comic, emotional and serene at the same time. One of the best ways anyone has handled middle aged romance.

Thanks for the tip Kevin. I'm an aspiring screenwriter myself, and find the writing in As Good As It Gets to be the most organic, and true to life dialogue I have seen in a long time. I am studying the screenplay in order to learn more about dialogue writing. It is amazing. So genuine, and sincere.

"Sell crazy some place else, we're all stocked up here.".

Favourite movie of all time. Incredible screenplay. Jack Nicholson is just the greatest. Beautiful!

"You make me want to be a better man". What a line.

I think this is a work of genius. The dialogue is terrific and the depth of the charactors even better. It's one of the best movies I've seen. However, if this script is what got through the readers, it's a real eye opener just how many editing errors it has. If an unknown had submitted it, it would have gone to the round file. For example, the minor character 'Carl' is referenced multiple times where it is clear that 'Carol' was meant. There are many other accidental wordings. Don't get me wrong, I'm very happy it got past them. But again, it's an eye opener.

This is a terrific movie and script. In all the important ways, the script is one of the finest anywhere. However, it's an eye-opener that it had so many grammer, spelling and editing errors. A no-name writer probably would never get this past the first reading. Example: The minor charactor Carl is suddenly in the car with Simon and Melvyn saying a line that was obviously intended for Carol. The reason is probably a careless one-at-a-time global edit. Lots of other mistakes. Nevertheless, a great and well written movie.

It's obviously a great script -- one of the best. But I must say it's a real eye opener how many 'unimportant' mistakes it makes. For example, the minor character 'Carl' speaks a line meant for 'Carole'. Carl isn't even supposed to be in the car trip scenes. There are many other extraordinary errors. But the good points way out weigh the bad!

Thank you Kevin, like Brian, I am a young aspiring screenwriter, and that is some great advice. I completely agree with you. Now as for the script, it is one of the best I have ever read. No wonder the movie is so good. It all started with a great script. Love it to death. Could watch the movie over and over. Just as I can read the script over and over. It's all brilliant.

The best! I've seen this movie so many times and I still love it. And I don't usually like to see movies more than once.

rashmi (9 out of 10 )
Brilliant writing. Screenplay is just so awesome, one can almost see the film visually.

Rho (10 out of 10 )
The best screenplay I've read by far! It doesn't have most of the "mess" that I've seen in other screenplays. It's like reading an amazing book.
